Half of a chicken, my love by Blazko Half of a chicken, my love by Blazko
Early in the morning I drove to a street market in Tbilisi, first of all to buy some stuff for the dinner (actually that was somebody else duty), secondly to see "regular" Georgian folks at their work or simply daily activities.

At the very entrance I ran across this elderly lady who was looking for the perfect chicken for Sunday lunch.

I did not understand a word between the seller and the old woman. I could only imagine she ensures herself about the freshness of each bird, and with a lisping high pitched voice she says: I'll take half of THIS one, my love.

Take a look at the whole Cinematic Set here in my dA gallery.

Georgia seems like an interesting place; I watched a video on the phage library they have there, and they had these parts where they would just walk around the markets talking to regular people like this woman about bacteriophages. It had the same feel as these photos. Really neat. You're a great photographer :)

hey Blazko, how do you process this shot? may i ask if you mind. 'coz i really love the quality and how'd you process it.

ironically, this shot has almost none processing. I just played with colors (on HSL sliders). The rest is: good lighting conditions (greenish tones from a sun lit tent) fast lens and camera settings.

I'm gonna be honest with you, my friend: I'm not sure why, but I really like this shot. Light, color, composition, concept; there are a lot of details I really like, but I can't define them. In any case, great work. :D

This is lovely. Reminds me of when my Dad tells me how the (Italian) "grannies" go out to the back yard in the morning time, kill a chicken from the pen, pluck it, cook it, chop it up and put it in the pasta for supper.
Nothing like having a "fresh" chicken.
